Officer Role Descriptions

President: Serve as the public face of the organization; oversee administrative function of the group; communicate and coordinate with other organizations (SBAS, CCBER, etc.). Organize and oversee general meetings.

Vice President: Stand-in executive when president is unavailable. Assumes office of the president if it becomes vacant.

Treasurer: Handle the organization's finances, work with programming chair to fund events, work with Development Chair to gather more resources. Attend relevant financial trainings from Office of Student Life and Associated Students on campus.

Media Chair: Run the organization's social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook), focusing on engaging new students and other environmental organizations. Update the Website with event information and photos.

Outreach Chair: Attend outreach events (e.g. organization fairs, environmental tabling events) and seek to increase public engagement with the student population and larger community. Recruit new members!

Development Chair: Apply for grants, coordinate fundraising drives, and provide financial resources for the organization.

Programming Chair: Schedule events (bird walks, camping trips). Coordinate with Development Chair to secure funding for long-distance events, and Treasurer to disperse funding for those events. Lead bird walks, or coordinate stand-in leaders.

Secretary: Keep records of meeting minutes, event attendance, voting, and membership.

Conservation Chair: Lead efforts to protect and steward our local birds and wild spaces. Coordinate with other conservation groups (SBAS, other campus orgs) on projects. Attend monthly SBAS Conservation/Science meetings.
